What our Volunteers say: Jonathan and Lyne
We had the pleasure of taking Bluey out to Dunham Massey, and he was an absolute star. He’s quite a big boy, but incredibly gentle. He travelled beautifully, just laying down in the back of the car for the journey, and jumped right back in without any fuss on the way home.
Everything seems very new to him right now—he does like to zig-zag on his lead a bit as he explores! He was a little cautious when we came across some steps, and it seemed like he may never have seen them before, but he managed them really well. He is extremely friendly and affectionate, soaking up lots of attention and happily letting adults and children come up to stroke him.
He was so good with other dogs, too. He wasn't bothered by them at all, even the small ones, though he politely said hello to quite a few. He also got on brilliantly with our Greyhound, Otto. Even when he spotted some deer, he just watched them and never once became agitated.
His manners were wonderful when we stopped at the cafe for lunch. He showed no interest in our food, and while other dogs were barking and yapping, Bluey just stayed completely calm. He wasn't even bothered by people constantly walking past him.
Because he took absolutely everything in stride and didn't show a single concern around kids, other dogs, or wildlife, we really think he would be a perfect fit for any type of home.
