Welcoming a Greyhound into your home is a big decision, especially when you already have young children or other pets. We want to ensure that both our hounds and your family are set up for absolute success, which is why we offer our Foster to Adopt program.
Who is this program for?
Please note that this specific program is exclusively available for households with young children or existing dogs.
Introducing a new dog to a busy family home or to another canine companion takes time, patience, and careful introductions. This program is designed specifically to give these households the breathing room they need to ensure everyone gets along safely and happily.
How does it work?
Foster to Adopt allows you to welcome one of our Greyhounds into your home on a trial basis. You get to see firsthand how the hound interacts with your young children or your other dogs, and how they fit into your daily routine.
Reservation Fee: To secure your chosen hound for the Foster to Adopt scheme, we require a £30 non-refundable reservation fee. This covers administration costs and our homing team’s time and advice. If you do decide to officially adopt the hound, this £30 will be taken off your final adoption fee.
No Pressure, No Commitment: Beyond the initial reservation fee, there is absolutely no obligation to officially adopt at the end of the trial period. If it turns out not to be the right fit for your family, that is completely okay!
A Fair Chance for the Hound: Even if you don't end up adopting them, you are providing an incredible service to the dog. Transitioning from kennels to a home environment can be a big adjustment. Your home gives them a safe space to decompress, learn about household life, and show us their true personality.
A Win-Win: If the hound settles in beautifully and your family falls in love, you can seamlessly transition from fostering to officially adopting your new best friend!
