What our Volunteers say: Ruth
Betsy has been such a good girl today!
Her usual confidence lessened a little when it came to getting in the car, but she allowed me to place her front paws in and then lift her bottom in to help her. She allowed me to clip her onto the seatbelt harness but was pushing forward a bit. She may have just been keen to look out, but I kept hold until we were organised and I could shut her safely in.
She travelled beautifully and lay down most of the way.
When we got there, she was keen to get out but not silly, and she jumped out unaided.
She was no problem around the other dogs—all different shapes and sizes—and she didn't react to any. She set off at a strong pace but soon settled into a steady walk and looked like she was thoroughly enjoying herself, very interested in her surroundings but not pulling.
A wooden bridge, steps, and kissing gates caused no problems; it was as though she'd done it all before.
Back at the cafe, she waited patiently in the queue for a puppuccino for her and her friends. There was a spaniel nearby, and she paid him no attention whatsoever!
She LOVED the puppuccino 😁.
Going home, again she needed help to get in the car, but once in, lay down and didn't get up all the way home.
She's really impressed me today with how good she's been. We've had a lovely day 😊
What our Volunteers say: Bethan
Betsy had a lovely day, though we didn't manage to get a photo. She got into the car and settled down well. Betsy was absolutely lovely and even had a couple of people ask for information about her!
We sat by Danny and his mum and dad (Danny was adopted last year). Betsy really started coming out of her shell today and even started putting her two front paws up on people as a welcome. She was lovely with all the humans and dogs she met. Hopefully, she will meet her new family very soon! x
