What our Volunteers say about Foggy.
Foggy has settled in excellently at home and is an exceptionally well-behaved dog with no reported issues. He is clean in the house, shows no separation anxiety, and is very good around food, not attempting to counter-surf despite his height. He settles well, sleeping through the night downstairs with Merlin, also a greyhound. While he is not reactive towards other dogs, he does possess a strong prey drive, showing a dislike for cats and a keen interest in keeping small, furry animals out of the garden. For play, he loves his cuddly toys and enjoys chasing a tennis ball, although he does not bring it back.
Louise says:
He was too large to fit into the boot of Julie's estate car (or should I say, Julie's car was too small for him 🥰), so potential adopters might need to measure up.
He needed help getting into the boot of our car and was not interested in trying to jump in. He is a big, heavy boy, so I just lifted his two front paws in, then lifted his back end in. He travelled lovely in the car, lay down straight away and was as quiet as a mouse. When we arrived, he was happy to jump out.
At the show, he was a bit nervous at times with his tail between his legs, but he soon settled. He was happy to meet and greet all humans and children, and it seemed like he got a lot of interest.
He was happy to walk past and stand next to all breeds of dogs with no reaction. If a smaller dog did approach, he was keen to say hello nicely, but there were a few times he looked like he might pounce, so I wouldn't trust him totally around smaller dogs at the moment.
He has a beautiful, healthy, thick coat, and I love his cute overbite x. Overall, Foogy was a pure gent to take out for the day ❤️ x.
